This was a perfect weekend for a festival, especially when it’s all about food. Sacramento has been celebrating all week highlighting their Farm-To-Fork events. The Sacramento Farm to Fork Festival showcases the diverse agriculture we are blessed to have in this region. Farm-To-Fork week always ends with the food festival and the Tower Bridge Dinner. I went to the festival but alas, no tickets for the dinner for me. I’m so envious of those that got to attend. It’s on my bucket list though!
This is incredible, Sacramento shuts down a bridge for dinner.
The food displays at the festival were works of art, showing such glorious produce we grow here in California. Here is a little tour of the vendors and booths.
Love the bottle and logo for Lodi Olive Oil Company
Check out the bees from Henry’s Bullfrog Bees. If you find the white dot that is the QUEEN!
Our crisp and juicy apples from Apple Hill
Love these magnets for CA Grown
Grains and meats from Llano Seco
Sacramento grows a lot of tomatoes.
As always, there has to be flowers.
It is a pleasure to go to a local farmer’s market and see the vast amounts of produce, meat, eggs, and flowers; and then go to a local area restaurant and find the same produce being used in your salad or main dish entree. I grew up on a dairy farm and know the vast amount of hard work and dedication required to raise animals, fruits, and veggies. It is because of this labor of love and also the love of the land that all of us can enjoy this bounty. Sacramento Farm-To-Fork.
