White Chocolate Fudge Ingredients
- White chocolate chips - These form the sweet and creamy base of the fudge and I like to use these Guittard White Chocolate Chips or Ghirardelli White Chocolate Chips.
- Sweetened condensed milk - The secret ingredient for achieving that delicious fudge consistency. This is what allows the fudge to set.
- Salt - Just a pinch of salt to help bring out the flavors of the fudge.
- Vanilla extract - Adds another layer of flavor to the fudge and really compliments the white chocolate. I make my own vanilla extract.
- Food coloring - Perfect for adding a festive touch for recipes like this. For Valentine’s Day, add a few drops of red color.
- Sprinkles - Adds a playful and colorful addition to the fudge. Perfect for festive holidays and parties. It’s just so much more fun with sprinkles!
How To Make White Chocolate Fudge: Step-By-Step
Step 1. Start by lining an 8x8 baking dish with parchment paper to make it super easy to lift the fudge out of the pan. Make sure the parchment paper extends past the edges of the prepared pan.
Step 2. In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine 1 ½ cups of white chocolate chips, ½ of the sweetened condensed milk, and half the salt. Stir to combine. Microwave for 30-second intervals, making sure to stir in between until mostly melted. Be careful not to overheat. Stir until fully melted and smooth.
Step 3. Add the vanilla extract and 2-4 drops of red food coloring until you’ve reached your desired shade. Mix until thoroughly combined.
Step 4. Spread the chocolate mixture evenly into the bottom of the square pan and allow it to sit for 30 minutes to set.
Step 5. After the pink layer is set, repeat the process without the food coloring. Spread the white fudge layer over the first layer.
Step 6. Add the Valentine’s Day sprinkles on top of the fudge and lightly press in the sprinkles so that they stay in place. Allow it to set for 2 hours.
Step 7. Once your fudge is firm, pull the edges of the parchment paper extending off the sides of the pan to lift the fudge out. Carefully set the fudge on a cutting board to cut into squares. Serve and enjoy!
White Chocolate Fudge Baking Tips
- Ensure even melting and prevent burning in the microwave by heating in short bursts. You only want to work in 30-second increments and make sure to stir in between.
- It’s recommended to stick with the white chocolate chips over candy melts due to the rich flavor. Candy melts will not give the same results. For layers without color, try milk chocolate instead!
- Add creaminess to the fudge by mixing in some room temperature butter when melting the chocolate.
- It’s crucial to the recipe that you use sweetened condensed milk. Other substitutes will result in a wet mixture that won’t set.
- Gel food coloring is our preferred choice here! It provides perfect vibrant color without compromising the flavor.
- In order to get a clean cut, make sure to use a knife ran under warm water, wiped dry. This helps to cut the fudge without sticking. Just make sure to rinse in between each cut.
Variations
- Experiment with the layers by separating them into three or more layers and adding different colors or varying amounts of food coloring.
- Adapt for varying holidays by swapping out the food coloring and sprinkles or opting for your addins. Purple with milk chocolate and ghost sprinkles could be so cute for Halloween!
- Add to the texture and taste with additions such as mini chocolate chips, coloring sugar, crushed cookies, or mini marshmallows. For a fun Valentine’s Day touch, sprinkle some conversation hearts on top with heart-shaped sprinkles.
- Add richness with peanut butter or Nutella, making sure to blend it with the chocolate.

This was a lifesaver for our Valentine's Day! I wanted to make something special for my loved one, but I'm not the most experienced baker. This white chocolate fudge was so easy to follow, and it turned out beautifully. The pictures definitely don't do it justice - it looked even more amazing in person! They were so impressed with the homemade touch, and it was so much fun making it together. Thanks for sharing this recipe - it definitely made our Valentine's Day extra special!

I made this fudge for our bunco group and it was a hit. It was quick and easy to make and I found some fun sprinkles for the top. Will be making again, and I think I'm going to try making it in other colors.
