I love sweet potatoes and prefer them savory. I remember the first time I ever tasted them was at a Thanksgiving dinner shortly after my arrival in the USA. They were filled with marshmallows and candied nuts and they were just too sweet. Only later did I discover how delicious they can be when prepared without added sugar. My favorite way is roasting sliced sweet potatoes with salt, pepper, and a very generous sprinkling or fresh or dried marjoram.
