If you have kids, these cauldron pops are perfect for them to help make. They can get creative, dipping the Oreos and adding fun eyes and colorful sprinkles.

Once these pops are completely set, you can wrap them in cellophane, tie a bow on the stick, and give them out as edible gifts.

For an extra spooky touch, I like to grab a black cauldron, fill it with Styrofoam, and stick the pops in it to create a fun Halloween centerpiece. I promise it’ll be a hit at your party! You can also make it so the kids can enjoy themselves at home.

  • Type of recipe: Dessert or sweet appetizer
  • Cooking method: No bake
  • Skill level: Easy with room for lots of creativity
  • Flavors & textures: Sweet with a classic Oreo crunch

Ingredients Needed

Halloween Oreo cauldron pops with candy eyes, Halloween sprinkles, green and chocolate candy melts, Oreos, popsicle sticks, and coconut oil placed on a white surface.
  • Chocolate sandwich cookies: Oreo cookies are the key to making these cauldrons. Feel free to use your favorite flavor.
  • Candy eyes: These candy sprinkles are for the eyes of the cauldrons.
  • Candy melts: Black candy melts, and green candy melts are used to coat the cookies and create the cauldron.
  • Coconut oil: Helps to melt the candy and evenly coat the cookies. Use the unrefined coconut oil so you won’t have a coconut taste.
  • Halloween sprinkles: Have fun with decorating and use sprinkles to give character to your Oreo pops.

How To Make Cauldron Oreo Pops

Step 1. Melt the black candy melts with coconut oil to thin them out. Remove one of the sides of the cookie, dip the top of the stick into the melted candy coating, put the stick into the center of the cookie on the cream filling and then add the top cookie back.

Step 2. Dip the cookies into the black candy coating, coating both sides. Gently shake off excess chocolate. Place on parchment to dry for 10 minutes or until solid.

Step 3. Add green candy melts to a piping bag. Cut off a small part of the tip of the piping bag and pipe small dots at the top of the cookie.

Tip: It’s easiest to use disposable piping bags. You can load them with candy melts and pop the bag into the microwave to melt them.

Step 4. Immediately top with sprinkles while the coating is still melted. Use a little chocolate to adhere the candy eyes to the body of the cauldron—pipe on a green mouth.

Feel free to make as many pops as you like. A typical bag of sandwich cookies is 14 ounces and contains 36 cookies. If you wish to make a lot of these pops, you may need to buy two bags of the black candy melts.

  • Use a little chocolate to adhere the candy eyes to the body of the cauldron.
  • Pipe on a green mouth.
  • Let set another 10-15 min until fully dry.

Notes

You can make as many cauldron pops as you like. A standard 14.3-ounce package of regular Oreo cookies contains 36 cookies, but you can make 5 or all 36.
If you have leftover melted candy coating, just put it in an airtight container, and it will keep.
Notes: If the candy coating hardens, just heat in the microwave for 20-30 seconds.
Once these pops are completely set, you can wrap them in cellophane, tie a bowl on the stick and give them out as edible gifts. You can even get a black caldron, fill it with Styrofoam and stick the sticks in it for a centerpiece.
