💖Let's start with cookies because Valentine's Day gifts of cookies are easy to wrap up in a box or tray with a big red bow.
Dark Chocolate Slice and Bake Cookies
What a perfect way to give chocolates is with a batch of these melt-in-your-mouth shortbread cookies that are rolled in Valentine's colored sprinkles.
Red Velvet Sprinkle Cookies
These are a fun cookie to make since they are two cookies in one. There is the sweet sugar cookie outside with a surprise red velvet layer inside. If you have kids they love rolling the sugar cookies in the sprinkles.
Rose Petal Shortbread Cookies
This buttery shortbread cookie recipe has just a hint of rose flavor paired with cardamom, and pretty rose petals on top that makes this cookie elegant and delicious. A perfect way to give flowers for Valentine's Day.
Iced Thumbprint Cookies for Valentine's Day
There are a lot of thumbprint cookie recipes but these sweet bite-sized cookies are a favorite. Roll these cookies in red, pink, and white nonpareil sprinkles, and when they are done fill with creamy icing. You can make the icing all red, or all pink, or mix them for a pretty presentation.
💖If you love making cakes these easy cake recipes will make the perfect treat.
Chocolate Stout Beer Cake
This is my hubby's favorite cake because it's chocolate and it's made with stout beer; that's what he likes. And, what better way to give your sweetie chocolate for Valentine's Day than to make their favorite Chocolate Stout Bundt Cake. Dear hubby gets his favorite cake on his birthday, Valentine's Day, and Father's Day. I like to spoil him.
Raspberry Chiffon Cake
This chiffon cake is delicious anytime but so lovely in pink for Valentine's Day because this light and fluffy raspberry-flavored cake is just so good and will be appreciated when baked for someone special.
Classic Red Velvet Cake
This is the best Red Velvet Cake recipe I have made and bakes up moist and tender. Iced in the classic butter roux frosting this cake looks so pretty in red and white, and if you like add some pretty icing flowers for a pretty cake.
💖Now some delicious elegant desserts
Strawberry Chardonnay Gelee
This Strawberry Chardonnay Gelee is like a wine cocktail that jiggles. You may think this is just jello, but one bite you will find a velvety smooth luscious dessert. You can even make this ahead of serving time.
Raspberry Vanilla Bean Tart
This impressive Raspberry Tart is so easy to make with a chocolate shortbread crust, a vanilla bean custard all topped with sweetened whipped cream. Top this tart with fresh raspberries then slice, and enjoy.
Chocolate Ganache Tart
My favorite way to give chocolate for Valentine's Day is with this Chocolate Ganache Tart. Rich and silky the ganache filling is topped with pretty whipped cream rosettes. Add a sprinkling of red candy hearts for the perfect chocolate dessert.
Tips for making desserts easier
All of these desserts can be made ahead of time. You can premake cookie dough and store it in the fridge for a couple of days, or make the cookies and store them in an airtight container.
Make the cake the day before serving and store covered with a cake dome.
Tarts are kinds of iffy to keep too long, but you can make the shortbread crust earlier and then add the filling later. That makes these tarts really easy.
And, everyone asks about the gelee. This is such an amazing and simple dessert to make. This can be made several days before you need it, just add the whipped cream topping right before serving and a red ripe strawberry on top. Everyone will love this pretty red dessert.
